Teeth Enamel
Believe it or not but the teeth enamel is the hardest part of your body. Tooth enamel is a small thin layer of consisting primarily of tissue that covers each tooth. It acts as a protector of your teeth when chomping, grinding, or any other tooth-related activity and is purely transparent so whites (or other color) of your teeth can be seen right through. Needless to say, it is a very vital part of your dental arena.
Tooth enamel errosion can occur from many causes but will be caused mostly by the acid found in soda, some fruits, acid reflux, or even some medications. So when your mother tells you not to drink soda, a valid reason exists behind her statement! Corrosion, attrition, abrasian, or abfraction can occur from corrupted teeth enamel which essentially are sensitivity, discoloration, cracks, fractures, or impurities of the teeth. Amazingly, even brushing your teeth too many times a day can cause tooth enamel corrosion!
On to the tips and tricks every mother should tell you regarding your teeth... When drinking soda, use a straw which allows it to bypass touching your teeth. Sugar-free gum is a must and drink lots of water. Fluoride toothpaste also helps but if the problems is too deep, costmetic dentistry can save the day or possibly some tooth bonding.
